Silver Circle was established by longtime NECT resident Carly Martin in 2008 as a dynamic place for local and regional artists to convene, connect, share, inspire and enrich our tightly-knit community. Now celebrating 8 years, Silver Circle has proudly become a respected establishment in the arts community that has positively impacted many people’s lives. It's beautiful art gallery provides the community with a gathering place to contemplate art and creativity.
Silver Circle has just recently welcomed local talent Christina Cirillo Schmidt as the new co-owner. Christina received her BFA in Scenic and Costume Design at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Since then, she has worked around Connecticut in theatres, designing as well as teaching. Christina has also featured her artwork in various galleries and theatrical productions throughout the state. Christina has a strong passion for teaching- she brings a fun and nurturing energy as well as a unique perspective. She has taught a variety of classes at Silver Circle, as well as classes in Providence.
Silver Circle Gallery is a membership-based art gallery and art center meant to be a launching pad for local and regional artists at a variety of levels in their career. If you are interested in becoming either a primary or adjunct gallery member, showing in the Art Alley, or teaching a class or workshop please contact us for further information.
Silver Circle is an asset to the cultural relevance of the Northeast. In order for it to expand its mission, Silver Circle partnered with Windham Arts, the Designated Regional Service Organization (DRSO) for Northeast Connecticut, New England, a subsidiary of the Connecticut Office of the Arts, now a part of the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) and Governor Malloy’s new “Still Revolutionary” tourism marketing campaign. Their mission is to develop, support and promote the arts, cultural organizations, historic assets, tourism and economic development for all our constituents in their creative communities.
The Friends of the Silver Circle Art Center group was formed in conjunction with Windham Arts to raise funds for the art gallery. We are passionate about the value that Silver Circle gives to our community. Sponsorships, donations, and dialogue with our organization will keep the gallery vibrant throughout the years.
As a community partner with Windham Arts, we hope to be able to continue serving the arts communityand accept support that helps us to further our mission.
