I was born in 1961 in Lowell MA and raised mostly in the USA. I'm a 1983 graduate of the UCONN school of Fine Arts and currently live and work in Northeast Connecticut. Sometimes figura- tive, sometimes abstract, my woodcarvings paint- ings and drawings are spontaneous works consisting of bold cut lines and randomly applied colors. In1984, a year after art school I purchased a wood lot and began sawing and drying wood and developed a love for general woodworking, con- centrating on simple furniture and artistic Small Wooden Boxes. As an artist I've become more a woodcarver though I still paint with oils and water- colors. I draw constantly. I make a living drawing, some CAD but mostly sketching and pencil render- ing. I think and plan in 3-D which has been very useful as an artist and designer. I've become a specialist in designing cutting dies for industry. My real inspiration is people, faces and the female figure. I've started to develop a real interest in exploring the figure through Digital Photography and have built myself a workshop/studio in Thompson which is now my base of operation.
